Flagg is currently involved in the upgrade to the existing Waste Water Treatment Works (WWTW) in Villiers, Free State.
The existing WWTW shall be upgraded to meet the future sewage demand. The project entails upgrading the existing 2.6 ML/day Biofilter Trickling Plant to a 4.8 ML/day Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Plant. This will consist of the construction of a new inletworks for the plant, a new BNR reactor, a new clarifier, upgrading the existing chlorine contact channels and upgrading the existing pump station of the plant. A new security fence will also be provided.
The construction of the these elements will allow the plant to operate with sufficient capacity for the next several years, and will allow the plant to comply with DWA special standard for sewage discharge.
