Client: Sedibeng Water / Maluti-a-Phofung Local Municipality

Project Location: Qwa-Qwa, Free-State.

Description: The project consisted of design and project management for drilling and equipping 60 boreholes in the Qwa-Qwa regions. The 60 boreholes are intended as a water augmentation scheme to bring relief during drought periods. The boreholes are also intended to bring permanent water supply to isolated areas where it is difficult to supply bulk water through traditional pipelines due to the steep topography of the region.  The total supply capacity of the 60 boreholes are 5.62 Ml/day.

Conclusion: The implementation of the boreholes are divided into different phases. During the first 3 phases a total of 15 boreholes was equipped and are supplying water to the communities. The remaining 45 boreholes awaits funding.
